Marie-Hélène Falcon at the FTA : a priceless legacy

After 30 years of guiding destinies at the FTA (Festival TransAmériques), Marie-Hélène Falcon has decided to step down as director of the festival, which she helped transform into one of the world’s most highly regarded dance and theatre events.

A passionate and tireless leader, Falcon programmed close to 400 shows from 45 countries, letting us discover artists from all over the world and letting local performers find new stages where they could blossom.

If the FTA has become an international benchmark in terms of contemporary works for the stage, it is largely thanks to her work. In 2013, the FTA received the Grand Prize of the Conseil des arts de Montréal. As well as providing support for the person who will succeed her, Marie-Hélène Falcon will direct the 2014 edition of the festival.
